Next Level Jobs is a workforce initiative created by the State of Indiana to address gaps in the Hoosier workforce. Next Level Jobs hopes to aid in an effort to employ over 1 million Hoosiers over the next 10 years within recognized job fields. To help fill these jobs, they have created the Employer Training Grant, which reimburses employers who train, hire, and retain workers to fill those in-demand positions.
Employers who meet the Next Level Jobs criteria can receive reimbursement of up to $5,000 per employee who is trained, hired and, retained for six months, with a maximum reimbursement of $50,000 per employer.
The Indiana Office of Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeship (OWBLA) offers a number of resources for employers who are interested in developing and implementing a framework of work-based learning pathways for youth and adult populations. The OWBLA uses Registered Apprenticeships, State Earn and Learn, Career and Technical Education, and more to facilitate continued education and on-the-job training at the same time.
This program allows employers to proactively train and employ qualified individuals to meet demand of their expanding businesses. The resources provided by the OWBLA can often be partnered with state and federal grants related to workforce development such as the ones provided through Next Level Jobs.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) offers a wide range of tax credits, tax exemptions, and grants to companies creating new jobs and investing in the State of Indiana.
The IEDC also offers a variety of programs and initiatives which offer expertise and business support, making it easier to do business in Indiana.
